The microcredential “Financial Literacy for Non-Finance Managers” provides a crucial background in the financial documents of a company so that managers can make better informed decisions. Below, an interactive activity tests learners on the key parts and concepts of the balance sheet.
The work of taking a for-credit graduate course and compressing it into a lifelong learning offering takes a lot of creative thinking and empathy for the learner. For example, I used an e-learning authoring tool to break down complex formulas for a certificate on understanding tariffs in the international economy. The original content comes from a graduate-level course on international economics. This shows an important skill for developing lifelong learning courses: presenting learners the most important and relevant information to acheive their professional goals.
